This is not me (I don’t have any of my old wedding pictures around — my parents have them), but this is almost exactly what both my wedding dress and my veil looked like.  It was the 1980s!

Dang I wish I had a picture of my aunt’s dress. My mom’s wasn’t that bad for 1985 but my aunts was very poofy, complete with a headband. But you know what, that was the style back in the day! And I’m sure in 20 years they will be saying that about our dresses!

When I was little I always wanted to have a dress with puffed sleeves like my mom and Anne of Green Gables. Now I look at my mom’s dress and think how lucky I am to not have to wear that. She looks gorgeous in it still, but the sleeves are too much!
