my fiancé and i are quite the hippies; we love the outdoors, we’re environmentally conscious, we follow jam bands all over the country, we still wear tie dye…all our friends refer to us as such, and our wedding screams it (we’re getting married at a lodge in a state park in the middle of nowhere with live music)…my bridesmaids (all 10 of them!) joke about how they’re lucky they aren’t wearing tie dye dresses, and they are correct! i chose mint green & purple as our colors, and let them choose any dress the want in the color mint green…and i’ve come up with a way that my bridesmaid gifts represent who we are and some things that my friends will love (and find funny!)
i hired a friend who has a crochet business to make these mandala earrings for each girl:
i found an artist on ebay who is going to make 10 custom tie dyes insprired by this design/color combo:
i also purchased a stationary set (personalized note cards/to do list/journal) for each gal – all recycled products, and a small picture frame with a picture of each of them and i (not pictured)
all of these items will be given in a reusable eco-friendly baggu foldable tote:
and i am also making small survival kits for the day of that will be in small burlap bags (not pictured) including chapstick, tylenol, shout wipes, bandaids, tissues, bobby pins, safety pins, and gum.
i have 10 girls, so i had to make sure i was cost effective. i managed to pull all of this together for $31.00 per bridesmaid!!
i have a maid and a matron of honor who i will be getting separate special gifts for, along with this set. i love the theme 🙂
share your themed or creative bridesmaid gifts here!

It’s cute… but doesn’t it fit more with your style than theirs? Unless they’re hippies themselves, I am not sure the gifts will be quite so appreciated or used.

Eh, I think a LOT of bridesmaids gifst are more to the bride’s style. It’s OK.
I think I would appreciate most of the things you’re giving your girls!!

If they have similar taste, then I’m sure they will love them.
I would use the re-usable tote. I carry them in my purse all the time.

I think these are meaningful gifts and really exhibit your loves and passions! I’m sure they will appreciate them too!

@CakeyP: i agree- i think that’s the fun of it! plus i thought it would be cute to have pics of us all in tie dye at the afterparty.
i guess i’m a bit more “offbeat” than most here 🙂 that’s what makes the world interesting!

@blankenshiptobe: Man… I would LOVE to get reusable shopping bags as a bridesmaid gift! I think the earrings and the shirt are the only things that are super “hippie” and more for you (I would totally have them get ready in the shirts!) and the rest is a fairly substantial gift on it’s own. Good job! I can’t believe you got all that for just $31!

@MexiPino: yes i definitely want them to wear the shirts that day!! i am a bargain hunter so i came across some great deals.

I love your gifts 🙂 But i don’t know if you Bridesmaid or Best Man share the same style as you do! maybe throw in one thing that you think each girl will like (if one likes lipgloss then put in one lipgloss if one loves rings put one ring ) I hope it helps 🙂
