I’ve decided that I want to do a red/black/white wedding with houndsotth accents. All of my friends did damask so I want to do something stylish but different! In order to make it less tacky I’m only trying to incorperate it very lightly. As in a bow on the centerpieces ….or an overlay on a few of the tables. Maybe a houndstooth flower in my bridesmaids hair….something like that.
Is anyone else out there a HOUNDSTOOTH bride??

I know this sounds crazy, but I clicked on this post to see if you were in Alabama. Those are the colors and pattern used for EVERYTHING University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa related. So…hit Ebay, Walmart, Target, etc. and search for things that are ‘Bama related. Etsy will be your best friend. I don’t know how far you want to carry that theme but just for example:
http://www.etsy.com/search?q=Alabama+houndstooth&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US&page=1 I’m sure you can ask them to be done without the “Alabama” lettering, etc.
For your doors; http://www.etsy.com/listing/105676758/alabama-football-wreath
A garter? http://www.etsy.com/listing/111724290/university-of-alabama-fans-garters-2-pc?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=alabama+houndstooth+garter&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_ref=auto_recent&ga_search_type=all Ask if they’ll take off the elephant, or just clip it off yourself
And the fabric stores here have ROLLS UPON ROLLS of the houndstooth and red fabrics, ribbons, etc. Even though I went to Auburn, I’m interested to see how this comes together! Keep us posted 🙂

Very classy. One thing to note, make sure you photograph every houndstooth pattern to make sure it won’t fuzz in pictures. This is typically a problem with small houndstooth patterns being photographed by digital cameras. It’s called a moire effect. If you stick to big bold houndstooth prints like the one you posted, you should be fine. 🙂
