My hourly rate doesn't match salary-what gives?

I think you’re calculating it something like this:

18.27 (hourly rate) * 8 (hours worked per day) * 5 (days per week) * 4 (weeks per month) * 12 (months per year) = 35,078 ?

Which kiiiiind of makes sense except that’s assuming that the year perfectly has 4 weeks a month, which isn’t true.

This math assumes that there’s only 48 weeks in a year when there’s actually 52 so that’s where you’re losing that bit of money when you calculate, I think!

Otherwise, 18.27 (hourly rate) * 8 (hours worked per day) * 5 (days per week) * 52 (weeks in a year) = ~38,000!
