Has he tried breathe right strips? I snore a lot, and those have helped me (and Fiance, lol)

I feel your pain! My Darling Husband rarely snores, if he does I just kinda elbow him and he shifts positions and stops, but (and this is going to sound like the whiniest/bitchiest thing ever), HE BREATHES SO LOUD. Sometimes when I’m really overly tired I just kind of want to punch him in the face because it grates on my nerves so badly! I’ve actually moved out to the couch before. The next morning he was confused and asked why I was out there, and I (having barely slept) was like, “Because you WON’T STOP FREAKING BREATHING while you sleep!!” Luckily he found it funny. It’s probably not so nice to tell your husband to stop breathing…but I wish he could be a little bit quieter about it, lol.

@Sunshine09:  Ditto. I use a humidifier and small fan for white noise.

Also, I usually go to bed (and sleep) first, but when I don’t I find it’s harder to get to sleep.

what about going to bed a few minutes before him?

Darling Husband thinks I”M the loud sleeper … he’s a … throw my arm across her and cuddle her ..um NECK.  yeah so I feel your pain.

We are getting a bigger bed.  I know that when my older brother’s moved out … my dad slept in the guest room.  Can you do that?   My SIL made my brother go to a sleep clinic (younger bro) and he only slept 57 min over a 10 hour period.  He had to wear that mask thing, but . … SIL is so thankful that everyone can sleep.  Maybe you should make hubs get checked out.

UGhhhh – yes, my husband is a lound breather & snorer too.

The ways we have tried to combat this is to ensure that I fall asleep first. Also, I find that he is the loudest when he is on his back. So if I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep, I ask him to roll to his side and this usually allows me enough time to go back to sleep before he starts sounding off again.

Also, does your husband smoke? I have noticed that since my husband switched to e-cigarettes, his loud sounds have decreased.

@Wonderstruck: HAHA!! I love your comment about punching him in the face! I feel the EXCAT same way!! Sometimes I just yell loudly out of fustration and he wakes up all confused – it is a small victory for me. Wink

@AnnieAAA:  Haha, I’ve totally done the frusturated noises till he wakes up thing too!But he just falls right back asleep (of course, I’m the one who takes ages to fall asleep), so it’s kinda pointless. I agree that falling asleep first is pretty much the only solution…mine just always goes to bed so darn early!

@Sunshine09:  My Fiance uses Breath Right Advanced Nose Strips and they seem to work well for him. 🙂

because I’m a super light sleeper (I wake up with the neighbors dog sneezes!)

and my Fiance is a snorer, we sleep in seperate rooms. We lie down together every night and snuggle, etc, but then we go our seperate ways. I’m not ashamed of this as a good night sleep is vital to all of us!

Ear plugs. Seriously. Ear plugs.

I go to bed earlier and wear ear plugs. That way I’m in a deep sleep by the time he gets in and any heavy breathing or snoring that happens doesn’t wake me since I’m already in a coma and the ear plugs keep me from hearing anything.
