What a weird day it’s been. Yesterday a high school student got in trouble for bringing a gun to school to sell it to another kid. DHs older brother is a cop and he was the one who ended up arresting the student.
Sooo this morning the students mom Facebook messages my Brother-In-Law and says “Look, you may already know this but the boy you arrested is your nephew. I’m your half sister. We have the same dad.”
But the story gets ever weirder! She asked Brother-In-Law for my Future In-Laws number because she wants him to help pay for a lawyer and to get the charges dropped. Then come to find out, the gun the boy had, he said he found it in the woods in a tent which just so happens to be my DHs crazy cousins!
So the boy, my DHs “nephew”, unknowingly found his “cousins” gun in the woods THEN gets arrested unknowingly by his “uncle”! What are the chances of this?!
DH and his brother are feeling taken back by the news they have a half sister-but it’s not that big of a shock because his dad had/has stepped out on his mom many times.
Im just trying to wrap my mind around all the stars that had to align for all of this to take place!

How did she know she was his half sister, but he doesn’t know that? I guess the dad told them not to tell? This is a bizarre story.

WTF…This whole thing is super confusing…

Super weird and confusing but honestly the part that bothers me the most is a tent in the woods. With a gun inside. DAFUQ?!?!

Get blood tests done, just in case.

Tf? Damn, that’s a lot for your DH and his family to deal with. And she needs to have a seat trying to get money out of their dad to bail out her delinquent son.

How old is the half sister? She’s old enough to have a high schooler?
What a bizarre series of events.

Yeah, blood test before any monetary support. And talk to his dad about the possibility of other kids

I guess Mother-In-Law knew about this half sister but didn’t realize she lived a town over. The sister is 3 years older than DHs brother and she was born right before Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law got married. It’s totally bizarre I agree.

This really makes no sense.

So she reaches out when she needs something? ….shady.

This sounds like a poor attempt at novel writing. Don’t quit your day job, OP.

Wow lol. I’m sorry you dont seem to believe this but it’s true. I just wrote the post because it was such a weird and crazy day and it was hard for me to wrap my mind around.

Small towns man.
I went to school with people for years only to find out later that they were my cousin. I have a huge extended family that I don’t know, luckily I never accidentally dated any of them!
