I have always wanted to name my daughter Scarlett and as we were going through IVF for our little girl, my cousin got pregnant and is naming her daughter Scarlett, I don’t care, I am using it anyways. I think if you like the name more than you dislike having a second (insert baby name here) in the family, go with it!

Your future hypothetical daughter would be second cousins with the other child? I think that’s so distant of a relative that this doesn’t even seem like the smallest of problems. Use the names you love when the time comes to name your children!

psyche1978 : been doing research on my Irish ancestors, and discovered there were certain naming conventions typically followed that included naming kids after grandparents, parents, then aunts and uncles. The same names appear over and over (making it harder to trace ancestry.) No one was trying to be unique.
