So, I’m a lazy slob and haven’t written anything about my proposal yet, for which I apologize. So, here is the story:
First of all, Hurricane Irene almost ruined our whole trip. Long story short, I fought with the airlines and we were one of the last planes to leave out of the only open airport in the tri-state area before it closed for 2 days. Now, back to the story.
The second night we were in Venice, my fiance(!!) took me out to one of the best dinners I’ve ever had on this beautiful terrace over the lagoon with a beautiful view of Torcello and Murano. Unbeknownst to me, that was the night he wanted to propose but, by the time we got done with dinner, all of the gondoliers had gone home! He dragged me around nightime Venice from 12AM-1AM looking for a gondolier. It was annoying but, it gave us the opportunity to take some awesome pictures.
Well, the next night, we had another very romantic dinner canal side, right by the Rialto bridge (tiny tables with strolling musicians, wine and candlelight… it was awesome!). After dinner, he bee-lined to the gondolas. We went on an hour long tour of Venice and when the gondolier was coming back, just as we rounded on the rialto bridge, he got down on one knee and proposed! It was ridiculously romantic and adorable (if a bit cheesy), and very much him. And after the proposal, we sat on the steps leading down to the water and drank wine to celebrate!
Unfortunately, it was just the two of us so no pictures :(. But here’s some ring porn!
