Hello Bees, I am new to the board. I’ve been inspired by your beautiful wedding gowns, especially Ralesio’s red Vera Wang Gemma inspired gown. I am working with Malia with a budget of $1000. Let’s see if JBS can make my dream dress come true! ๐
Some revision that I’ve made to the original gown was…
1. Lighter shade of red, #65.
2. Shorten the train
I am a size 00-0 in clothing, 5’1 w/o shoes, and 5’8 with heels on. The fullest of the train is beautiful, but I feel it might overwhelm my petite frame. Yeps, you’ve read right. 7 inches hooker heels on my wedding day. I vow to be TALL, if only for one day in my life. ๐
3. Add pronounced sweetheart neckline.
I have no bosom, so I need the extra help to create an illusion of one.
4. Since my behind is flat as a landing field, I added wheat beading to create the illusion of curves at the waist area. I don’t know if I should just do 4 small areas or have it go down in a “V” line in the back. What do you think looks best?
5. I wanted the sequined skirt.
If you ladies have any suggestion to make the gown look better, please feel free give advises. I look forward to hearing from you. ๐

Well Bees, my brief romance with JasmineBridalShop has ended. I felt it inappropriate to discuss a bad shopping experience on a thread that filled with anxious brides waiting for their dresses. It just dampens everyone’s spirits. So I shall write my honest review here in my own thread. I can’t speak for their gown because I haven’t gotten that far, but their customer service deserves a F-.
I found JBS here on the forum with overall positive review so I gave them a try.
Quote time: 9 days from the day I entered my info into their website
I was assigned to Malia who reassured me with “I will work with you to keep the dress under your $1000.” First she requested a photoshopped pic of the gown to show details about how I would like it. Of course, what I like was out of my budget so with each successive email modification along with a new photoshopped pic had to be given to their production team, even on small changes like removing 2 feet of train instead of 1. The end result was a bare dress with a sweetheart neckline and no train. Even with those modifications, the last quote from Malia was even higher than the previous because she forgot to add on the matching petticoat. Malia was giving me numbers, but wasn’t informing me of other options/different combination of service that would help me reach my goal. There were choice words the last email that she sent. That led me to seek help elsewhere.
Next I work with Kimmie. I decided to use premium craftsmanship with designer fabric on my gown to get it in the budget. By my calculation, it came out to be $867.09. I sent the calculation to Kimmie to be checked. She replied that there were other charges; her calculation shows $867.05 with BoA discount. The price looks great, I was about to agree until I show that there was a 30% designer fabric fee that was applied to the beadwork, sequin tulle, and a neckline modification. I asked Kimmie if these materials would be upgraded, because if they weren’t affected, why is the fee applied? To summarize Kimmie’s bolded response, she said it’s company policy to apply those fees; however, none of those items will receive an upgrade. I shouldn’t bargain/complain because I was already getting a Vera Wang gown at a discounted price. If I don’t like it, go elsewhere.
I am appalled at how JasmineBridalShop responds to customer inquiries. They don’t have logical explanation for their surcharges and they patronized the customer. One option that I’ve came up with to reach my goal of $1000 and have photo service with to simply remove the beadwork which would bring the cost down to $1008. Had JBS sales representative done their job and been polite about it, I could’ve had a gown and them another customer. As cheap as the $867 gown was, I can’t bring myself to work with and make profit for a company whom blatantly disrespect their customers. My personal thoughts are if it’s this bad BEFORE they have my money, it can only get worst once they have it.
Transcript of the original conversation for Bees who believed it’s all a misunderstanding.
