@toasty:  I guess the problem you have is that the lace on the original dress is on the under layer, and had to be thick to show through the upper layer. Is that correct?

Now it’s being applied to the over layer and you require a finer lace to achieve the same look.

The thick lace will be a deal breaker for you, so you should go with a finer lace.

I feel guilty when I ask for changes but it’s best you do it now. Otherwise it will keep bugging you.

@toasty:  No you are not being picky.  I point these things out all the time.  I truly believe that it is something that can be sorted when the dress is steamed, but you never know, so it is best to point it out and get them to steam the dress or whatever it needs.  Remember this is your opportunity to get it right.

Beautiful dress, I just love the back neckline.  Well done.

@toasty:  The seam just needs pressing but confirm it with JBS.  I queried everything even though I was fairly certain of the answer. It’s best to confirm these things just to give you peace of mind.

@toasty:  If you require a high level of detailing it’s best to go with the designer grade.  My daughter’s dress has a very basic design but a lot of free style beading and I went with the full designer material and craftmanship. That way I didn’t feel too guilty being so fussy.

In regard to the seam – that is what all seams look like especially on finer bridal materials until they are steamed/pressed.  Once it’s steamed you will get a better idea.

Good luck with the new lace.

@toasty:  Don’t mind? I’m honored! The lace is my absolute favorite part so far.

I love the new flowers on your dress.  I think they match the overall look much better. Did James mention any delay because you upgraded the craftsmanship?  Thankfully they are so accomodating with the changes, it makes this dressmaking process a little less stressful!

The dress is coming along great!
