Aw sorry to hear.  Good luck to your kitty.  Diabetes in kitties is a lot more managable these days. I hope he pulls through with flying colours!!

So sorry to hear this, and hope everything turns out well.  Fiance and I have to take our dog to the vet this afternoon….he won’t walk, and when he does is very shaky.  Scared. 🙁

I’m sorry, that’s scary. But I know 2 people with diabetic cats & it only requires 1 shot or 1 pill a day. Plus I think putting him on special food. The cats still act the same & you wouldn’t even know he had diabetes. I’m sure your kitty will be back to his normal self soon. I hope the vets update you soon!

Oh I’m so sorry! Poor monkey! I hope he’s feeling better soon! One of my close friends has a diabetic kitty. She’s doing great and doesn’t mind getting her shot every day. If my friend has to go away for a couple of days or whatever, there are pet sitting services with vet techs that will come and give her her injection every day. You guys will get through it! ((hugs))

I am so sorry to hear about that. My puppy-boy, Rocky was diabetic too, and it was a bit of an ordeal at first. We had to switch him over to a specialized food, plus give him insulin injections multiple times daily. He quickly got used to the shots he needed, so much so that he would give us his tummy willingly when it was time for them.

Other than that, he had a very happy life and didn’t really show any other signs of discomfort after we got his blood sugar levels regulated.

@micahg: Aww =(

I’m sorry that your kitty is at the hospital. He’ll be okay though, because they work miracles there =)

My cat (pictured) got in my neighbors car and they started the engine on him. He was rushed to the emergency vet hospital, and came out okay, so all will be well. Just means kitty will get some extra love.

I myself am a type 1 diabetic. AND a mommy of three precious lil cats and one preicous lil dog! I hope everything goes well for your kitty as I’m sure they will give you medicine and teach you how to do everything. Good luck and keep us updated!
