Got my dress the other day – I am thrilled with how it turned out!
I ordered it on the internet and waited 16 weeks for it to be delivered to my door!
Its a light gold coloured satin with ivory lace over! I LOVE this dress and I love that it wasn’t over my budget!
But my problem is – do I keep the sash it came with – or do i get a skinnier sash – my girlfriends are leaning towards a skinnier sash to accentuate my figure – where as I love the wide sash it is beautiful – the crystals and flowers are gorgeous…. the satin is the same colour as under the lace.
(ps ignore the fur – i found it at a vintage store and was thinking i might wear it to the reception if it is cold!)
what do you guys think?

I voted for the thinner sash, but you look incredible regardless! Love stole too!

The large sash makes quite the statement (in a totally great way!). The smaller sash makes the dress look much simpler, but still looks good. I think it depends on what you want: bold or simple?

The sash it came with matches the dress but I can see what your girls are talking about– but the sash in the second picture looks too small, maybe go with one a little thicker with some detail on the sash. Do you mind me asking what site you purchased the dress on?? It is Beautiful!!

Cut the flowers off the original sash and make a hair piece! 🙂

Can you get a thinner sash that still has some sort of flower on it? That way its not a plain sash and has some of the flower detail you like?

If you love the wide sash, then wear it. They’re both beautiful, and while I see where your friends are coming from regarding the smaller sash emphasizing your figure, it’s also less dramatic. And your figure looks just as good with the wide sash, it’s just emphasized differently.

I slightly prefer the thinner sash (though the flower on the original is gorgeous). But no matter what your dress is going to be stunning on you!

You look beautiful and that dress is so pretty.

Thanks for all the responses – some really good feedback! I’ve still got a while to go untill i need to make my mind up so I think i’ll order some extra satin to make an inbetween size sash and see how that looks!
@msardosi: I bought the dress from an australian website http://www.catchthebouquet.com.au/. I am really impressed with the workmanship and quality. And although it wasn’t super “millys birdal” cheap – it was definitely cheaper than the $2500 dress i really liked and this one fits me way better and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference!

First of all, LOVE the fur! So pretty! I vote for a skinnier sash, but somewhere in between what you have now and the skinny one post. The one the dress came with had folds in it – can you have it tailored to fold down one section on top and one on bottom? I think that size would be perfectly flattering.

I love love love the original sash! I think it looks lots better than the thinner one.

OMG!! That dress is gorgeous!

That dress is timeless, really beautiful! I like the thinner sash, it really pulls in your tiny waist. As the other ladies have said, something a little wider would be perfect!
Can you please please tell me where you got that stole? It is just fab 🙂

I voted for the thinner sash but I think the dress is gorgeous either way.
