You’re totally right…they look much smaller before they are mounted.

What carat size is it? Diamonds have different face sizes, even though they are the same carat.

You could always do a halo or an ‘illusion’ setting to make it pop…..

I always found it to be the opposite. When I got the head changed on my ering, and the stone was out, I thought it looked much bigger than it’s actual size.

It is difficult to trust your eyes in situations like this. Look at its measurements and compare it against ideally cut stones and see where it falls. It may well just be your perception that it looks “small” right now, when in fact it is normal for its carat weight.

.83 is a very good size…not small at all! But some shapes also look smaller than others. A 1 carat square won’t look the same size as a 1 carat circle…  is it possible you are comparing the pear shape to another?  Comparing it to a cluster for sure will make it appear small… but thats a great size regardless Smile

I know exactly what you mean. I have one loose stone, just sent one back and one on the way….and they do NOT look like their size (to me) and I measured…they are spot on.
