I’d be hiding my valuables from her if she ever stays at your house. So many things just don’t add up!

I remember your first thread – am very glad you got your ring back!

Personally, I doubt it will be something that comes up for years and years because she’s apparently pretty unhappy and won’t be around. She may be one of those SILs that imagines “slights” from her IL family and thinks they like you “better” or they’ve done this and that for you and not her… and she was there FIRST. And you guys are newly engaged, planning your wedding and beaming and she’s just…..NOT. It takes some level of dissatisfaction and jealousy to do what she did and her husband (regardless of the face he’s putting on it) seems to be on to her bullshit. It will unravel all on its own accord. As for that sweet, sweet pup, I feel bad he’s getting blamed. Dogs can and will take a ring but they either gulp it instantly or bat it around for like 5 minutes and lose interest once they disvover it isn’t bacon flavored. He isn’t going to run around with it for months playing with it – especially in his bed where it would poke him in the ass. Poor little sugar bean…been thru the x-ray and all. HE deserves a basket.

sunnierdaysahead2 : If it has been in the dog’s bed that whole time (or the cutie has been moving it around) I’m sure there will be some fur, saliva or other marks on it. If it comes back all clean and sparkly (I doubt she would clean it herself) then you know crazy lady hid it from the start.

Yes, get it checked however I really don’t think she switched the rock out. If anything I think she either pawned it, wanted to get it checked to see if it’s a diamond or didn’t have a plan, simply took it in the moment and then realised that she really just didn’t think it through and had to find a way to get it back.

sunnierdaysahead2 :

I subscribe to “One good turn deserves another” so I think sending a small token of your appreciation is the least you can do.

A tote is always a welcome gift:

sunnierdaysahead2 :  whoa that is so sketchy! I remember your original saga. I’m glad you’re getting it back!! NEVER take it off outside your home (placed promptly in a ring dish) again.

also- do not send her jack shit.

allthingsthatsparkle :  +1 I’m dying.

So so happy the ring was “found”. What a shady shady person. Don’t you DARE send her shit! She’s a liar and a thief. She claimed it was in the dogs bed???? Months later???? That is complete bullshit.

I mean that doesn’t even begin to make a tiny bit of sense to me. Dog beds are pretty plain. Like an oversized pillow. Where would a shiny ring even be hiding? She’s a bad liar, I’d be checking that stone to make sure she didn’t mess with it.

sunnierdaysahead2 :  she needs to ship it with insurance and send you the tracking number. What if “oh I dropped it off at FedEx they must have lost it!” After you already gave up your replacement.
