Where have y’all looked at Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses? I know David’s Bridal carries a good range of sizes & styles…but have you looked there already?

Where does she normally shop for clothes? Maybe start there and see if they have something that works. What size is she? Most bridesmaids dresses run pretty large I think.

What are her ideas? Are there any dresses or dress styles that she feels good in? Also, make sure she has got some quality shapewear to wear under her dress. That will go a long way in making stuff look better (for everyone!).

i’ve been having trouble with my moh too for the same reason. she doesn’t like anything she tries on and it’s gotten serious cause my wedding is very very soon. so i had to decide for her eventhough she wasn’t so happy about the choice. we just picked the one she felt the best in, eventhough she still didn’t feel totally happy.

of course we want them to feel good in what they wear BUT if it’s causing the deadline to be pushed too much, she’s going to have to pick something. i think brides, including myself, have wanted to please the wedding party with what they wear and thats good and all…but, in the end YOU need to be pleased and the deadline needs to be considered…&  if that means her buckeling down and finding something even if she’s not perfectly happy with it, then so be it=/

to be painfully honest…she prbably won’t find anything she’s pleased with because of her weight. i think all ppl no matter their size are beautiful and we are all unique BUT she obviously is having problems with the dress situation because she’s not happy with her weight…?

if it’s you that isn’t pleased then thats a bit different but ya, she’s not going to put a dress on and the extra weight just vanish, so…IF it were me i’d do like i just did yesterday with my moh & say, "this is the last time we can try on dresses because of the deadline, so we have to make a choice today."

good luck!

Maybe since she’s having problems finding something that will fit, you should let her pick it out herself? That way she’ll have more options and a better chance at findng something she likes and looks good.

Cute dress DoctorGirl!  The shape is really flattering on women of a variety of body types.

@profbee- totally true.  The size 2 rocked it as well as the 22.  It was a definite winner.

doctorgirl is right. And empire waste v-neck is pretty much a no-fail. Unless she has super wide shoulders, that silhouette should work. If she is going to get it altered as well, order away and make the small changes when it comes in.

I think lots of bridesmaids run the gammut in sizing.  David’s Bridal F12723 is a shorter dress, which actually helped my size 24 bridesmaid look much better.  Showing some skin, the accentuated waist, and the v-neck looked great.
