I don’t wear make-up…ever. But I had my make-up trial this past weekend and didn’t love what she did. So I decided to try Mrs. Rainbow’s tutorial. I got a sample of the new Laura Mercier oil free, spf free foundation from Nordstrom and ordered the silca powder on the internet. This morning I put on the new foundation, buffed in some silca powder and topped it with my Bobbi Brown blush and some Mabelline mascara. Wow. I have FLAWLESS skin (which is an anomoly because post-kids acne is awful).
Yay wedding bee!! Anyone have super good luck with an eye make-up tutorial? I’m not a “smokey eye” kind of girl. More of a “bright and fresh” type, with slightly hooded eyes.

Well, not sure if this would help but lately I’ve been doing a natural glam sort of look daily (very into makeup so I never do straight up natural lol). I would really recommend the eyeshadow Nylon, by MAC, as the most gorgeous light all over the lid shad ever, it just opens up your eyes amazingly. Doesn’t look like much in the pot but wow.. favorite eyeshadow ever. I also have used this on other people doing their makeup and it seems to work with everybody. I then take Satin Taupe.. a soft brown-grey-plum (also by MAC, super gorgeous and popular for that reason) with a big blending brush and dab it on the outer corners then blend it back and forth in the crease for some subtle depth. If you then get a thin angle brush and a gel liner (looks like liquid but SO much easier to use.. I use smashbox’s) and a pair of natural-looking falsies, your eyes should be good to go. Pop on some blush, a highlighter on your cheekbones and a pretty lip color and voila!
This turned out a much longer post then I intended hahaha, I won’t be offended if you don’t take my advice 🙂

@MissButterTart: I havea nice grey-plum from Bobbie Brown, but I will look for Nylon. I’m not in love with my current all-eye color.
Fake lashes are so not an option. lol.

I bought a palette from Sephora designed for my eye color (blue). It has 2 different color schemes (one for a smokier eye, one for a more natural look) and shows you how to create both to emphasize your eye color… I’m totally clueless when it comes to makeup, but it was easy enough to follow the directions and the results were amazing! When I was shopping, I also noticed they sold one with 2 different types of smokey eye tutorials.
Sephora makeup is a bit on the expensive side, but so so worth it. They carry a lot of natural products, which is great if you’re like me an allergic to EVERYTHING.

I LOVE Mrs. Rainbow’s tutorial! I found it a while back and it seriously changed the way I did my makeup! I love her eyebrow tutorial, too. I wish she would give tutorialsEyes eye makeup!
