futuremrsJR:  My hair was right around your length as well. At least for me, extensions helped it give that fuller look at the bottom that the pictures had. My first trial reminded me of yours (with it kind of looking pieced together). Once I had the extensions in, she was able to use more of the hair making the bottom look complete. I’m not sure if it will help, but it can’t hurt!

Your very pretty so everything is going to look good on you but I do think they could do the eye shadow to compliment your color and eyes more! The picture you showed that you wanted for your make up looks a lot like the Naked eyeshadow by Urban Decay! I think she could get you the look your wanting by using that shadow!

futuremrsJR:  I know its really difficult to speak up sometimes when you have a relationship with someone who provides a service, but honestly I would 100% ask your hairdresser to do another trial just to be sure. The last think you want to think about is whether or not you will love the way you look on your wedding day. Your hair BARELY looked like the pictures you gave her… If she can’t style it the way you want for your wedding then I would go with someone else.

I have trouble with that too, and I often find myself as a “yes” woman. I am trying to mentally prepaire myself not to go along with things when planning my wedding just because I don’t want to seem too picky or dramatic. Its your wedding, you are allowed to be picky 🙂

I haven’t read through all of the responses, so I’m sure I’m repeating advice here, but I think you look really beautiful in the pictures! I do see exactly what you’re not happy with though. She overcomplicated the style so it looks busy in the back and doesn’t lay as elegantly as your inspo pictures. I would also go much softer on the eyes. In my opinion, some softer colors for the eyeshadow. I see where she was going with the more smoky tones, and it’s possible the coloring issues are because of the organic makeup and it will look better with her MAC products, but it currently looks yellow and black in the picture posted. I would also forego eyeliner on the bottom and do a more smoky eyeliner-look using eyeshadow. To get an understanding of what I’m talking about, I would look up a YouTuber called “Jaclyn Hill” and watch her video entitled “My Current Everyday Makeup Routine.” She uses this technique to get an “eyeliner look” on the bottom and it looks amazing! Good luck and keep us updated.

futuremrsJR:  I think you look beautiful.  I can see why you are disappointed though.  It’s not exactly what yuo asked for.  One thing to consider (which my hairdresser and I just talked about) is that the pinterest/google image photos are often not “wearable” hair” and won’t work for the duration of your wedding. The girl in the photo probably has extensions in, and while it looks nice in that photo, I bet that style wont last all night.  You can see how fluffed it is in the pic- that isn’t a long term do.  So do try to remember that an inspriation photo should be just that and that your stylist is (hopefully) considering that when doing your hair.

HOWEVER, I do think your lady could do a better job. The pins shouldnt be as visible (in fact they should be INvisible IMO), and it seems too piecey.  For makeup,   I wouldn’t settle for that.  The eye liner on lower lids needs to be blended, and the color palate you got is way more gold (no silver like your pic) than it should be.  Foundation is a little off based on your “natural” pic too.  If you got airbrush, it shouldnt feel heavy at all (it should be lighter than traditional foundation).  It seems like she put on way too much.  Your lashes and lip color are fab though 🙂 I would definitely ask for a retrial on both hair and makeup.  You deserve to feel your best!

I had my hair trial last week. I told the stylist my biggest concern was volume in my hair since it’s fine. She spent so much time on the back and did the top/front last…. well by doing that she didn’t have much hair to work with at the top/front so I didn’t get the volume I was looking for. I’m not sure if I should do a second hair trial. I asked her at first if she ever does 2 trials and she told me no…

Youre right, the hair is OK…Its just pretty flat I think she couldve teased it more and gave it a bigger look like the picture.

The makeup is flat out HORRIBLE. The eyeshadow hues she chose do not flatter your skintone and the eyeshadow itself is not even blended well! Its very very ameature I think you should look for someone else :/
