I had this problem and the only makeup I can get to blend are neutral tones.  Cool tones match better than warm tones (which are orange), but only neutral tones match my skin.

You should pop into a Sephora near you and get a sample of Dr. Jart BB cream. It only comes in one shade, which happen to work on very pale me, my Filipino soon to be mother in law, and my friend who has a completely different undertone than me. It truly is an amazing product. I really think foundations are one of the makeup products to splurge on.

Creiddylad:  Oooh, you know, I had the same problem with every other mineral powder I’ve tried- it looks cakey or doesn’t stay, but this actually works! Good luck in your continuing search!

I wonder if putting down a thick layer of primer beneath your foundation would help keep the foundation from oxidizing on your skin throughout the day, turning it orangey. Day to day I tend to either go bare faced or I use just a mineral powder over primer, no foundation, and I’ve never had an issue with it turning orange.

Creiddylad:  you sound like me and everyone always thinks I need darker makeup than I do.  The olive undertone (and the fact that I tan super easily and really well) seems to throw people off.  I just bought a Smashbox BB cream and the girl at the counter told me I’d be light/medium for sure but we decided to test it – I looked like I belonged on the Jersey Shore.  I left with fair.

You really need to go to the store, spend some time getting samples or sitting at the counter trying the shades.

Drugstore brands do tend to lean towards orange/yellow tones in my experience. I would get yourself matched somewhere like Sephora.

I use and sell Younique!  All natural based (and crulty free) so there is no chemical reaction on your face!  Beautiful airbrushed look thats lasts all day when used with our primer.  I used a few foundations from Sephora and they always felt heavy. I love how my Touch Liquid Foundation is so light yet covers great!  We have a 14 day money back guarantee as well!  If you are interested in giving it a try, send me a message, I’ll answer any of your questions!  www.youniqueproduct.com/lisaalm
