(Closed) My Makeup Trial! Too much makeup, or worth the pictures?

Definitely! It's all about the pictures!

No, you should ask your MUA to take it down a notch.

No, you should ask your MUA to tone it down big time.

MAC sells setting sprays and primer. I think the makeup in your boudoir photos is fantastic. I’d trust the artist.

Um, you’re gorgeous!  Are you fully Asian?  I’m Asian, and I wish I had your nose..!

But anyway.. I love all 3 pics, but I do see what you mean by the foundation.  I like how your skin looks in 3rd pic the best, but I love the drama of the eyes in the boudoir shots

You look beautiful in all the photos, although much younger in the third photo. Partly because of the pigtails, but also because you’re wearing less makeup and a softer lip.

I think to an extent you need to consider the photos, because you’ll be looking back on those. But you need to balance that with feeling comfortable and beautiful on the day, and not like you’re wearing too much slap to even embrace your guests!

I have don’t doubt that even if your makeup artist takes it down a notch – maybe sheer out the base or opt for a softer lip colour – you’ll still get gorgeous photos. Or, you could always do a bolder lip for the photos (if you’re doing a separate session during the day) and then tone it down for the reception?

@romantical:  I agree! I think the foundation might be a bit much too, and I doubt you even need all that anyway! But I loooove your eye make up in the boudoir shots. Very pretty!

But you would probably look good with no make up at all, haha. You’re stunning!!

It looks amazing but if you’re feeling hesitant about the heavy looking foundation on your day, I’d check into airbrush foundation.  It feels like nothing on and covers completely for a flawless finish.  I’m a MUA of nearly 9 years and an avid airbrush user for 4 of those.  I mainly do weddings and photoshoots and get the best results with it.

Makeup setting sprays! Also if you feel like it’s TOO much, talk to your MUA and let her know you’d like something with medium/full coverage that still looks “breathable and wearable” in PERSON. It’s great to look flawless in photo’s but if you look as frosted as a cake in person…ehh not so good! You want to be comfortable AND look great. Definitely mention using a less thick foundation that still has good coverage. Also Urban Decay has a great setting spray that should keep everything from slopping off in the hot sun. Just remember to bring some blotting papers with you in your makeup clutch to touch up during the day. ๐Ÿ™‚

You look so beautiful in both, but I think the boudoir photo makeup has more of a bridal feel to it

The first two pictures are gorgeous, so I’d go with what the MUA has done. I think it looks flawless and that the touch of color on your cheeks and lips is just perfect.

@TammieRei:  it will absolutely stand up to the heat.  i became familiar with airbrushing working on a movie set.  i’ve been using it for weddings and on myself for special occasions for years now.  i use obsessive compulsive cosmetics skin airbrush foundation.
