- Wedding: June 2011
I have previously posted about budget issues, eloping, and having my dream wedding. Fiance and I had already booked our venue and set up most of our vendors, but I have just been sooo STRESSED about the whole thing. We have gone back and forth a thousand times over our options and finally made a decision. We are going to get married at the Truman Memorial Building. It is similar to a courthouse type wedding but, we will be married by a minister and it will be a private ceremony. We are able to have 12 guests and write our own vows. I am still going to wear my vintage custom re-made wedding dress and will probably put Fiance in a suit. My favorite part is that the ministers do a special part in the ceremony where they will present our son and daughter with “family medallions” which are little pendants that represent the joining together of their “new” family and their importance in it. Luckily, our previous venue also does photography so we will use our deposit to take some awesome photographs. We will either do dinner or a cookout at our home after the ceremony with 40-50 close friends and family. We are still going to do the wedding in June and then it’s off to Jamaica for our honeymoon! We haven’t told our family and friends yet. I’m sure some of them will be judgmental about it, but I’ve finally realized what’s most important to us and I couldn’t be happier! On another note, it’s our 4 year anniversary today and I have been bursting with excitement all day about our decision, so I had to share it with someone! Thanks for listening bees and for all your previous helpful advice! Now I need to know how to make this the best damn “courthouse” wedding ever!
