I am so excited!!!!!!!! My awesome Maid/Matron of Honor (my sister-in-law and one of the most wonderful people on the face of this planet) and I had so much fun dress shopping on Saturday. We started at the bridal salon where I purchased my dress, and we almost bought this dress in aubergine for my Maid/Matron of Honor:
We talked about adding a wrap or bolero to it, but something just didn’t feel right. We took a lunch break, talked things over, and decvided to keep looking. So we headed to the mall near my house, which is friggin awesome. Macys, Nordies, and Lord & Taylor all under one roof! Macys was a fail, but Nordies was a WIN! We found 2 great dresses, and a black lace number was the ultimate winner.
Maid/Matron of Honor looks fantastic in it, and we knew it was “the one”. She was smiling and looked so comfortable and natural in it. The dress is so “her”. You can’t see the details well, but it has tiers of lace allover the bottom half and black sequins sewn into the lace. It’s formal enough for our evening affair, but not so bridesmaid-y that she can’t wear it again for a fancy dinner or a cocktail party. I am so, so, soooooo happy that I got to make her so happy.
AND… for bonus points, I found my dress for my bridal shower and day-after brunch. It was sitting there on the clearance rack just calling my name. I already have white, eyelet, slingback, wedge heels that go great with the dress, and I plan to pair it with a bright pink shrug that is also already in my closet. All I need to do now is buy a black sash to wear at the waist, and I will be all set:)
