I think what it is is that although moissanite is typically less crisp appearing, you can usually discern its splintery cut and it doesn’t look as foggy as that! Op said she cleaned her ring yet her center moissanite looks *inordinately* foggy/cloudy/blurry. That’s usually what occurs in older cz! I don’t know if the setting stones are supposed to be moissanite too but if so they may be cracked, as they appear gray/dark. However her photo is not the clearest either. I think she’s wise to send the ring back if she can. Given all their bad publicity lately, Moissaniteco may replace it as a gesture of goodwill. They really should.

I have a 16 year old moissanite ring and it doesn’t sparkle quite like my new Forever One, it’s not cloudy at all and still sparkles. I figure that they just have improved quality and cut so much over the years. I would definitely question if that is real moissanite.
