I agree I love the gorgeous sparkly white flashes my diamond gives, I’m not into the rainbow but that is what a lot of moissy girls love about their rings. To each their own! Anyways, the picture isn’t very good to see the difference but I am sure your review will be really helpful to others.

Good objective review. I’d never go moissy over diamond

🙂 Helpful review, I’d always go diamond over moissanite

Thanks for the honest review! It’s good to hear about both negatives and positives, because moissanite isn’t for everyone (in the same way that diamond, sapphire, any other gemstone etc. are not everyone’s preferences).

Thanks for posting your review.

I have toyed with the idea of getting a moissy RHR or maybe moissy earring studs, so I love hearing opinions and feedback from people who have gotten them.

I have heard that the rainbow effect is much more noticeable in the larger moissys. I was thinking of getting something much smaller, such as a half – carat….not sure. I also have heard of something called Amora which I think means it was treated or somehow enhanced to make it whiter and minimize the rainbow effect — do you know if yours was treated or not?

Also, you said that yours was a 2 carat FB moissy… what does the FB stand for?

And P.S. your ring is gorgeous!!!!

thanks for your review.I was thinking of getting a moissy for a while but I am super color sensitive  and I kept questioning if I would be happy with it. I wound up going with a diamond as well and after reading your review I realized I made the right decision. Thanks!

@starla:  +1.

It’s always good to see posters who actually get a loose stone and see the ring in person before making a judgement about it.  2ct is quite large, I am not surprised it had so much color!

Maybe you can change the setting for your diamond instead?  It’s a beautiful ring!

@GypsyLove:  I agree. The double rainbow effect was the first thing I noticed when I saw moissanite for the first time too. It played tricks on my eyes. I get migraines easily and it kind of reminded me of the aura I get with a really bad migraine, like my eyes couldn’t REALLY focus on it. I also noticed that it seemed to reflect the colors that the wearer had on. I never considered moissanite for my own ring, just wanted to see what everyone on the Bee was talking about. I am glad my Fiance chose my diamond ring. 🙂
