Hey lovelies! My custom moissanite ring from Fire and Brilliance came today. I initially wanted a 1.5ct but went for a 2ct to avoid… shrinkage lol. But now I’m starting to think it’s a little too big on me. I’m a size 4. What do you guys think? And please show your beautiful rings, and also your carat and ring size π
Pictures were taken on a cloudy day.

Your second pic didn’t load. It’s a little big for my personal taste, but it looks beautiful on you. That is a gorgeous ring and design. Congratulations! (Shrinkage is totally real)
I wear a size 5 and have a 1.11 carat lab diamond.

hypersaurusrex : Thank you! Your ring is beautiful and so sparkly! I really like the coverage of your stone. I‘m not sure why the second picture wouldn’t load. Here it is, the stone looks massive on my slim finger.

nivyx : the design is gorgeous and unique. It looks great on your hand. But I know in real life it could feel totally different than in pictures. I think 2ct is very noticable and huge, and my finger is bigger than yours.

luckyrabbit : Thank you and I agree it’d feel different in real life. It’s perfect for a dinner night out but would attract stares at the grocery store.
mrsaarthurhastie : Thank you π !!

nivyx : shrinkage is def real! I went from .80 to 1.25 and now soon to be 1.5 lol.
I think it’s perfect! And you probably may not ever feel shrinkage π I really love your setting too!

Wow, the hunblebrag is strong in this thread.
is it a big ring? Yes, objectively, since the average size of an e ring stone is not anywhere near 2ct. Does it look “massive on [your] slim finger?” Not really. Will it “attract stares in the grocery store?” Probably not as in real life very few people will notice your ring at all never mind stop and stare at it.

Your ring looks beautiful on your hands, which are lovely, btw! Shrinkage is a real thing! π You will get used to it after a while. I am a size 6 and my 3 stone 8mm with 5mm side stones seemed big at first, but I adjusted quickly.

nivyx : Would you think it was “too big” if it were an actual diamond?! Yes it’s quite large and will get attention but it’s a beautiful ring/setting and looks lovely on your hand!
DSSS (diamond simulant shrinkage syndrome) and DSS ( diamond shrinkage syndrome) are real as pp have said. Go big or go home! Wear it in good health and stop worrying about other people’s thoughts. It’s fabulous!

winterwhite : how is it humblebrag? I guess if it was a diamond, it may be considered a humblebrag, but it’s not. It’s moissanite, which allows many to get a ring the size they’d ideally want.
In theory, all engagement rings are humblebrags. They say, look at me, I found someone willing to spend their life with me, enough to drop money on jewelry (which would be an assumption).
To OP, I’ve heard it takes 2 weeks to adjust to a larger stone. Another bee posted about it recently. For my personal taste, I would never go that big. It doesn’t work for my life. Is it heavy?

It’s gorgeous!! And it looks amazing on your hand! I am a size 4 also and wish my fingers were as pretty as yours. π Anything over a carat is going to look huge on our fingers, but like you said, shrinkage is real…

I think it’s beautiful, but it is really big. I think 1.5 carats would be perfect on your finger, however the ring you have is lovely as is and if you like it you should keep it.

I love the design, but I feel like with the size of the main stone it makes it a bit harder to see the side stones.
