nowmarriedgirl :  It’s the culet at the bottom of your stone, coupled with you seeing the reflection of your setting. I have an Ideal cut diamond that did the same thing when it was in a Tiffany setting, but now that it’s in a bezel pendant and there is no metal under the stone, it doesn’t do it anymore.

nowmarriedgirl :  I still think it’s gorgeous but does it bother you? If it does, exchange it, if it doesn’t, then keep it! I exchanged the stone F&B originally sent me because the cut was totally wrong but it was much more obvious than a small spot. I’m so glad I did because the new stone is perfect. It all depends on what you want!

nowmarriedgirl :  I wouldn’t be concerned about the dark spot! my excellent cut diamond also has that in certain angle and lighting. Also depends on how the diamond is set. My mother’s diamond is set in a basket setting and set very low. So hers doesn’t have it as much as mine whereas mine is set very high with more light hitting the stone from the side – it’s my guess but it I do notice dark spot more. BUt you tend to be more critical of your own stone! As time goes by, you won’t even notice it.

Congratulations! I’m glad you finally got your ring. It looks awesome with your band and the near colorless h&a stone was definitely the way to go!
