i am so disappointed! i got a dress that is similar to what my moms wedding dress looked like. it was going to be a surprise that i was going to tell her about once i actually got it. however my sister today accidently let it slip that i had gotten a new dress and was selling my other one i got so of course my mom wanted to see it. but when i showed it to her she started knit picking every little thing! she was like ” i dont like this and this wont look good on you and blah blah”. i was was just thinking serously?! other then it having a blue sash thing on it, its almost exactly like your dress, how do you not like it?! everyone else ive shown it too loves it except my fiance who says he thinks it will change once he sees it on me. im hoping the same is for my mom cause i love my dress.
heres my dress

If you like the dress, that’s all that matters. It’s your wedding, after all.
And the dress is beautiful. 🙂

That is a BEAUTIFUL dress!
My mom got all weird when I asked about using her veil. Maybe it’s a “that was my look and while it’s sweet you want to copy it, maybe you should get your own look” kind of way. She didn’t want to say “no”, but I could tell she was REALLY dragging her feet about letting me use it. Which really disappointed me.
I think it’s a gorgeous dress and who cares what anyone thinks! It will be amazing!

That’s a beautiful dress. I’m not really sure what she would say is bad about it. All that matters is that you love it!

That’s so pretty! Maybe she didn’t like her own dress? Maybe she had dress regret? lol

Love your dress. Was she there the when you picked the first one out? Perhaps she’s just sad that she wasn’t for this and isn’t expressing it very well>

no she always loved her dress and knew i would have loved to wear her dress but she gave it away along time ago and it wouldnt have fit anyway. her dress had a goofy collar and long sleeves so its not exactly like hers anyway. she said she doesnt think the cut will look good on me. its an aline flowy dress, pretty sure it looks good on anyone. it has a lace up back and buttons going down the train that she doesnt like. i know she likes flowy which is a big reason i loved it. she really didnt like the belt which that i can at least see cause thats not everyones kind of thing. otherwise idk what the issue is. so hopefully like i said once i get it and she sees it on me she’ll change

That’s a beautiful, universally flattering dress. You’re going to look amazing, don’t give it another thought! Once they see you all done up the day of, they’ll change their minds : )

@JackiBean: That’s bonkers! Maybe she was just getting emotional about you being all grown up and getting married.

@jbbs1222: Personally, I’d be more concerned about my Fiance not liking it than my mom. His opinion is the only one that matters. It doesn’t matter if everyone else likes it if he doesn’t think you look beautiful in it (though obviously he’d lie and say he loves it either way). This is exactly why I want my Fiance involved in the process. I am bringing my mom dress shopping too, but she doesn’t get veto power like Fiance does.

Your dress is drop-dead gorgeous and your Mom is not going to be wearing it. Wear it as you will look stuning in it!
