Who cares!  She can walk down the aisle to what she wants to at her wedding!  hehe…I had to tell my Mom that when she wanted to invite all these people I didn’t know to my wedding.

I am proud of your Mom for at least trying to act like she liked it.  I always try to judge what my dd likes and then support her…sometimes it’s easier than others.  She might just have visions of you and “here Comes the Bride” but she’ll get over it.

Honestly, this is one of those things where you go with you want. It is a song and it should be something that you want. I too am walking down the aisle to a non-traditional song but that is who I am.

I say go fo it!

Exactly!! It isn’t like you picked some off the wall song. She will get over it!

Consider this another turning point of you making decisions for you.  You will make hundreds more of these types of decisions in your life that others will either feel are strange, wrong, or simply don’t like.  Does it matter.  NO!!  Do you want others (let alone your mom) be thrilled with the choice – of course!!  But what makes us all special is we all have different opinions and preferences… if we were all clones of each other, it would be a little bland, don’t you think?

I think it’s sweet your mom tried to be happy about your pick (giver her some credit! even though it was weak) and be thankful she isn’t trying to overrule your every move!!

Good luck planning!  (p.s. Nat King Cole gives me goose-bumps, too!)

I had people roll their eyes to my face about the song I walked down the aisle to.  In the context of our wedding and our setting, it was beautiful… and the naysayers weren’t so “nay-y” anymore!  I’d say stick to your guns!

I say Go for it!

I know its disappointing when you mom isn’t excited about every little detail but just stay true to your vision and you will have the best day of your life and nothing else will matter!

Its a fairly recent R&B song. Everytime I hear it I can see myself walking down the aisle with it. It probably helps that I am not getting married in a church. If I was getting married in a church my selection would be a lot different.
