I think you did the right thing, even if she saw the msg and it was not the ideal way of saying something.  Now you won’t have to worry on your wedding day and have one less thing to stress about.  I think it’ll all work out for the best now!

Honestly?  No one is going to think it’s your mom who’s getting married.  You could say, “Hey mom, I noticed your shirt is white.  Umm…I’m worried people are going to think you’re nuts!  Let’s find a different top.”  But it really won’t matter in the end.

Edited because I didn’t read the entire second paragraph.  I think it’s fine…just tell your mom you didn’t mean for her to see it that way, but that people will be judgemental if she wears white, so it’s for the best anyway.

Just talk to your mum – you said you two had a great relationship. Also help her find something, make a day of it.

That sucks.  She obviously didnt want you to be upset so she bought a new top.

Just tell her you were sorry and were being unreasonable.

I see she’s already seen the message so there is no undoing that. But if she loves that shirt a lot and it looks great on her, could she dye it a different color?

I could have written the same thing! I got a text on saturday showing my mother-in-law’s dress. It’s white lace on top with a black skirt. Yes, it will look weird in photos. Sure it’s taboo to wear white to a wedding. But I’m more concerned that it’s just not flattering at all. Lol. I’m just keeping my mouth shut.

I know the way she found out was kind of crummy, but I think it’s for the best. You don’t want your dress to look dingy in comparison to the bright white of her top and, since she has a new great figure, I’m sure she will find something else that will look fabulous on her. Maybe you can go with her and help her choose something?
