Thank you so much, everyone. I’m pretty excited to see her face when she realizes what I’m wearing, and I’m even more excited to watch her open the package the picture will be in.
In general, I’m pleased with how the remodeled dress looks, but I’m still unsure of a few things. For one, it looks in these pictures like my shoulders are broad and massive, and I’m not sure I like that. It may also just be a trick of the camera angle, though. I also think it will look better when the area around my boobs fits at last.
I’m wondering, though, if it would help to have just a slight amount of poof in the skirt. Perhaps that would balance out the giant shoulders? What do you ladies think? Would a very small petticoat (maybe only one layer of tulle) be a good idea?

I think a bit more poof might be good. Also, a belt? I love belts, and I think it helps balance a look. Not sure what kind though, something very plain.

Thank you for your input. It’s kind of hard to see in the picture, but the waistline on the dress is a little strange. It comes up in an arc right below the bust in the front, and it comes to a low princess-style point in the back, so I’m not sure a belt would be the best with it. Thank you for telling me your thoughts on the poof!

I think the poof would look funny. I think once you are in hose with heels, you will look great. BTW- you don’t have huge shoulders. Everything looks very balanced.

I think a bit more poof would look great. What a transformation, though! I can’t believe it’s the same dress!

Hmm. Maybe I should wait to try it on with hose and heels before I make any decisions, then.

I would have never thought to have pictures done with it unaltered – and I think it’s really a FANTASTIC idea! What a great memory to keep in your wedding album. You could even have her photo beside yours. plus, sweet gift for your mom. That said, I really LOVE the dress altered! i would totally wear that right now.

I agree that you shouldn’t do anything until you try it on with some shoes.
You could even pay additional homage to your Mom by wearing some vintage style heels.

Such a nice idea. The lace details are gorgeous!

Wow, you just gave me all sorts of ideas. My Mom saved her dress too, and it looks similar to your Mom’s (high neck, lots of lace, very 80’s). I wonder if there’s anything that can be done…hm…

I can’t wait to hear about your mom’s reaction!

What a WONDERFUL idea! That is so sweet! You look a lot like your mom 🙂 Your rehersal dinner dress is beautiful too!
