BelleEtoile:  Wow! It does look a lot like your original ering. How did you manage that? Were you hoping for this look when you “customized” your ring?

BelleEtoile:  I thought lab grown diamonds barely cost less than mined diamonds anyway? Maybe like 10% less or so? If it’s actually a diamond, being lab grown does not mean it’s worth way less and therefore not worth selling.

I also didn’t think it was possible to grow them much larger than carat and a half or so, definitely now where near 4 carats. Did you get a cert from your uncle?

Wow, that’s huge!

You should take it for an appraisal.

Lucky girl 😉

BelleEtoile:  Holy moly, now THAT is a rock! Even nicer is the history… Especially since you were close to your grandmother. She must have loved you very much to want you to have her mothers ring. That is very special indeed.

Out of curiosity, and of course only if you’re comfortable sharing, do you know how many carats it is?

polyblonde:  I think you’re right. The largest lab-made white diamond ever created is exactly 1.29 carats and is an emerald cut.

The largest FCD on Gemesis.com is currently 3.41 carats.

I really don’t think there’s been a 4 carat white, RB diamond ever made.

Arshim:  You’re right. There hasn’t been. I feel like many people have pointed this out to her..

BelleEtoile:  I’d consider selling one of your very large diamonds so that you can your Fiance can actually afford to live together after you’re married. I can’t even begin to understand the priorities of someone who claims to own a 4 carat diamond ring but cannot afford to live with the person they’re about to marry because of money troubles…

So if it isn’t a lab diamond, what is it?  CZ?

I would be very angry at that uncle for misrepresenting the stone. I am sorry it came as a (nasty) surprise to you. The eagle eyes of the bee are rarely wrong when it comes to a game of ‘spot the cz’ though.

Never do business with friends or family. Someone always gets screwed.
