- Wedding: April 2011
This is my first post. I have been lurking these boards for a while now and this is an awesome place. A brief background, we’ve been engaged since last October and our wedding is April 30th. We are doing something small, sort of a family backyard bbq type thing and our budget is also small. I always said I’d have a courthouse wedding but once I knew my I do’s were coming I wanted something a little bigger and more fun. I’ve painted big dreams with our tiny budget and the portrait I saw was amazing!
Well the vision I had has disappeared. This Chinese knock off JUNK dress I got has broken my heart. Long story short why I ended up purchasing it was because I am not picky, the dress I wanted was sooo simple I thought they can’t screw it up. Well I thought wrong. I at least expected a K-Mart Blue light special, instead I got a thrift store clearance item. It’s HORRIBLE. I thought it would grow on me like a bad hair cut but it hasn’t. I cannot wear something I will not feel beautiful in. The first thing I noticed upon taking it out of the package was there was pink ink around the bottom hem on the front. Who sends dirty clothes to someone? Next there was a pin still stuck in the side of it! Seriously? I didn’t even see it until it poked me. There are ribbon details on it and it’s pilled and bubbled and some of it doesn’t even have stitching. It’s got threads needing to be cut off all around and there are noticeable uneven cuts where it’s sewn together on the seams. I hate it. It’s has me so upset to the point I’m sick and I am ready to not even have a wedding.
I am still waiting for these people to e-mail me back about a refund. I really didn’t think it would turn out this bad but it did. This is a risk I knew I was taking but geesh! I would not recommend purchasing anything from China. I am so mad I am tempted to not even buy every day clothes made in China anymore.
Thank you for letting me vent. I feel a little better getting this out in a place where other’s can feel my pain. 🙂
