Some of you on the ring board might remember my first engagement ring, which is absolutely gorgeous, and then my subsequent “dilemma” over whether it was too large. I find it slightly too unwieldly for everyday use, and I’m a little scared of damaging it because I love it. Well, I talked to my fiance about this and he said it would be totally fine for me to get another, simpler one, to wear every day (Of course, using my own money!) I had previously chosen the first ring too so there was no particular sentimental attachment.
I chose a simple moissanite solitaire on a plain band, but with our birthstones on the sides because that was my favourite part of the first ring – an opal on one side and a topaz on the other. I think it’s beautiful, and wanted to share it on here because, well, I feel a bit silly talking to people in real life about it. In fact, I haven’t told many people that I’ve got it because I didn’t want to come across materialistic or stupid for having two rings!! But I know there’s some jewellery fans on here (myself included) who are always happy to see new rings 🙂
It’s sol 297 from moissaniteco.com, with a 6mm (0.75ct) FB round stone, ring size 4.75 (UK size I-J). I love the double prongs, and they don’t look as pronounced as they do in the close up pictures. The last pic is probably the closest to how it looks in real life. Very white and sparkly! It’s so comfortable and light to wear as well, which is what I was hoping for. In fact, I do panic sometimes thinking that I’ve lost it before realising that I’m actually wearing it…!

oh i love the extra gems in the side! Did MoissyCo charge you more for that? How did you put your order in for that to be there?

Thanks! The two settings I chose both already had surprise stones incorporated, so I wrote to their customer service and asked if it was possible to swap out the moissanites for the birthstones, and Mike said it was fine. I then made sure it was written in the comments section as you order. They didn’t charge more for the birthstones, which I was surprised about! But another bee mentioned that they asked US$15 to replace the surprise stones with sapphires, so it’s probably based on how precious the gems are. Opals and topaz aren’t very expensive 🙂
