I didn’t know you could unplate white gold!!! It looks beautiful!!!
I love unplated white gold. It looks so much richer than regular, rhodium plated white gold to me, plus it never needs to be replated. If anything, plated white gold looks more like sterling to me, as sterling is a very white metal. Unplated white gold can’t possibly be mistaken for silver, IMO.
smudgie : I love unplated white gold. It’s so unique, warm, and…genuine? Idk. It’s also better for the environment I’ve read haha. Something about how the rhodium plating is…idk can’t remember lol. ANYWAY! Your ring looks great now!! I’m not always such a fan of silvery metals (plated wg or platinum), so maybe I’m just biased. It looks beautiful!
I love it, I think it looks better 😊
I really like it!!
Looks really good!
I didn’t know you could ‘vanilla’ your rings. I learn something new on this site everyday.
So soft and beautiful, imo!
I like it, your set is really pretty too. I have white gold rings, but have been wearing them for nearly 3 years now and never got them re-plated as the warmer colour never bothered me, so I guess I have vanilla gold now? Haha.
greeneyedbee : was it this article? http://www.jodiegearing.com/white-gold-should-not-be-rhodium-plated/
Thank you for the positive comments bees. I will be keeping them unplated 😊 I guess my uncertainty comes from the sentimental angle that they have always been plated until now, so I’m almost cheating on my original rings?? I get how stupid that sounds. And I know they are the same, but because they look different my brain keeps thinking “not yours” 😂
I like it! Never heard of unplating white gold, but I really like it on your hand! Also wanted to let you know your set is a huge inspiration to me, because my engagement ring has a Valentino setting too 😊
