I have a diamond ering that i picked out. Like you I LOVE pink and I have no reason as to why we didn’t consider anything other than diamonds. I love rose gold and would have been ecstatic with a peach sapphire or morganite stone. So I regret not considering anything other than the traditional ๐Ÿ™

The only diamond I considered was a cognac diamond. The issue is getting one that is relatively eye clean. I have no regrets going with a purple sapphire. Its my favorite color ๐Ÿ˜€

@southern_sweetheart91:  Darling Husband bought me that ring (from Ice.com for less than 300, look around for sales!) as a quarter century birthday gift as a RHR, so I obviously loved the way it looked online, and I’m wearing it right now, but it definitely doesn’t look as nice in person…the “diamonds” are completely dull, they blend into the metal and you can’t even tell they are stones…also compared to my diamond/platinum e-ring and wedding band, it feels lighter and therefore cheaper/more delicate, and I’d be very worried about it not standing up to the “forever” in your vows.

I get so many compliments on my sapphire ering! I love it and so does everyone around me… The only complain is that people dont automatically understand that it’s an ering. They ask, oh, so are you engaged yet?

… LOOK AT MY DAMN AWESOME SAPPHIRE. Did you ask Kate Middleton if she’s engaged?

    Just my opinion. Laughing

@southern_sweetheart91:  Yeah cognac diamonds are wow. I have some in a right hand ring and I’ll probably get some more pieces with them. Chameleon diamonds are wow too but hard to find. I actually saw one about 3 months before we bought my stone for my e-ring I knew my husband was saving and it wasnt an option at that time despite the remarkable price they had on it. This diamond went from olive green to peachy tan. In all honesty it wouldnt have worked with most of my clothes and the stone we got is more like my personality but it was pretty slick. The sapphire we got is pretty wow as well it switches colors like an alexandrite. Its purple most of the time due to the lighting where I am most of the time but it does some amazing color changes.

    My sapphire does this:

Well.. for $300 you could get it as a right hand ring at some point, right? The way I feel is that you may not have the chance to get a nice diamond ring anytime soon, so go for a diamond with your e-ring if you’re already having some doubts.

Also, I’ve heard morganite doesn’t quite hold up as well as diamonds… like it’s a softer stone. I would love to have a morganite ring at some point, but I am happy we chose a diamond for my engagement ring.

@southern_sweetheart91:  I LOVE morganite! I badly want a pink gemstone RHR to go with my black diamond e-ring. Morganite, padparascha, or pink sapphire.

I have a blue topaz and have never regretted not having a diamond! A few times I’ve reassured myself and been SO GLAD I didn’t go with what’s traditional just because it’s traditional.
