I learned jewelry making at the beginning of the year and have about 800 swarovski pearls and 600 crystals waiting for me to put together this weekend into jewelry for myself and my four bridesmaids. Once that’s done, I am going to learn to sew!
There is a local store that specializes in teaching machine and hand sewing, and I’m going to see about taking about 10 hours worth of classes at the end of the month. I fell in love with the vintage clutches on etsy (see attached photo, found on etsy), but they are out of my budget 🙁 I’ve always wanted to learn to do machine sewing, so this seems like a perfect project! I haven’t found a pattern yet but I’m working on it. I have registered for what I hope is a nice sewing machine, I was planning on taking it up more seriously after the wedding. This will be a good start, I hope!
What new skills have you learned for your wedding?

I haven’t learned anything for the wedding yet…but there are some cake-decorating classes in my area that I’m dying to take. Unfortunately, taking Spanish and Sign Language for my job right now…there’s just not enough time in the day to be crafty!!!
I love those clutches though….swoon.

That clutch is beautiful! Really the only thing I have learned is just how crafty my sister is – which is fabulous because I’m not! 🙂

I am afraid that while I GREATLY admire DYIers, I am totally inept at such things. The only thing I have learned from planning this wedding is why people hire wedding planners! LOL

Hehe, you guys crack me up! Cake decorating sounds like fun too but I have been expressly forbidden to try doing my own cake 🙁 apparently it would be too much work the day before the wedding or something. BAH!

I didn’t make that clutch, I don’t know if I made that clear, heh.
Oh! Clay flowers sound so cool! As do paper ones, I’ve seen that lately.
