- Wedding: September 2016 - Bridgewater Place
My new fiance (squeeeee!!!) and I have been talking about getting married since January. It’s no surprise that it was going to happen, but the when, how and where definitely was! IN our discussions of marriage and what we want out of life he wanted to know what I wanted in a ring. It was a point of stress for him and he wanted to make sure that I got the ring I wanted. And then I had a fabulous idea. My fiance is one quarter irish … and I’ve always wanted a claddagh ring. For years I’ve wanted one but I never felt right buying one for myself. So we decided he would propose with a claddagh, and then we’d pick out “engagment” ring together. So here she is…my very simple preliminary engagement ring – that I just got yesterday! I’ve decided on a moissanite engagement ring but we want to go to a jeweler to look at styles and sizes to figure out what i like best 🙂

Very pretty ring and exciting! Congratulations! Mine was similar in that we’ve talked about marriage before he proposed last Dec, so I was anticipating, but also didn’t know where or when and also non-traditional since he knew I loved Sapphires. Such a fun time!

cowpoke06: Congrats! And what a great way to strike a balance: honor his heritage, and choose the ring together. Love it!

Good job on wearing it correctly for an engaged lady, CONGRATS! I love my claddagh ring, my aunt sent me one straight from Ireland when I graduated high school.

My fiance proposed with my claddagh ring as well (the same one he flipped around from the “single” to the “taken” position when we first starting dating, what a corn-ball), a few weeks before my moissanite ring arrived!

How cute! I like that idea! My bf and I discussed marriage in January also but I am still waiting. How did you hold it together while waiting? I’m driving myself nuts!!!
