@gigglebox:  First of: Beautiful wedding! You are such an adorable couple.


I totally agree – that slideshow-style is sooo weird. Especially that the pictures seem to be somewhat 3dimensional “flipped” – that’s really not all that flattering on some of the pics.


And also why is there the still sky-blue border around it when there finally is a video part?!


Have you seen his work before ordering this? Is that what he always does? (if so – I am sorry, but then you’re probably stuck with it) 


If I were a vendor and got your e-mail the way you posted it I’d probably just shrug it off.  If you want to have something with more effort put in, I think you need to talk to him on the phone or write an additional e-mail clarifying your feelings and disappointment. 


Glad you’re in love with the wedding pictures though. They do look amazing.

@gigglebox:  I fully agree with @Kili

You should get what you paid for, and a slideshow is not what you paid for.

However, your email wasn’t very clear on what you liked/didn’t like and came off a little snarky… “Well this wasn’t really what I wanted, but I guess it’ll do…”

If you want something different, I’d lay out clearly what exactly you did and didn’t like and what you’d want out of the new highlight video.

@gigglebox:  I agree that there seem to be too many still photos for a video. Will you be receiving a longer edited video as well?

I would have loved to have received the raw footage of our day from my videographer, but he does not provide that.  I even offered to pay him extra for it, but he wouldn’t agree to sell it to me.  So, I guess that is a benefit of your videographer’s package that some of us do not have.

ETA: Oh, and it took NINE months for us to receive our video. I thought I might never see it. I was SO thankful when it actually arrived.

You make a beautiful couple and have some great pictures there. However, what you don’t have is what I’d expect from a wedding video! He’s supplied you with a slideshow. Not the same thing at all. I’d ask for another highlight video to be done, this time with video footage!

I agree with you.  It looks like a slideshow and there is barely any video to it.  I would be upset too.  Just have to wonder where all that real footage is?  Maybe something happened to it and they are trying to gloss over it without telling you?

I agree. It should be more footage. If there is a certain song you want, tell him. I would also include a reference to what you werhooping for your videwonk doubt he will change it based on the wording of the email. I would be straight forward and express your disappointment, then explain exactly what you want. Good luck!!

Honestly, I would ask for a partial or full refund. This was NOT a videography.. it was a slideshow of pictures, and a horrible done one at that!

Did you have a contract that states what the “videography” was [as in.. did it say picture slide show].

How did you pay him? If you used paypal you could open a dispute.

You had a gorgeous wedding, and photos, but you paid for a service that you clearly did not recieve.

Ive gotta agree with you and everyone else, I would be so disappointed with this as a wedding “video” highlight. There was next to no video with it, plenty of (his wifes, not even his) photos but then he even went and flipped them all and it hurts my head watching them flipping around. Why? Just… why?

To me, it doesn’t look professional and I would be telling him upright in another follow up email that you expect a response and you wish to further discuss the video (slideshow), your expectations and to resolve the issue.

By the way, Im Australian so it may be novelty but your accent is just too adorable! You two are a gorgeous and such a cute couple! Im glad it looks like you had an amazing time on your day and sorry he’s spoilt your high!

@gigglebox:  Good on your Darling Husband for that email, it was what needed to be said and I hope it gets a result! He cannot just ignore the two of you!
