So, I’ve been working out with the P90X series for about two months now, but because of time constraints, I’m only on week five! For the first 30 days, I was really into it!! But then, Tony and his crew go and change the workouts!
Just when I got used to the darn thing, it changes and I’m struggling again! I consider myself to be pretty fit. When I work out, I like to burn, but I don’t want to feel like I can’t accomplish anything or complete the workout. That’s exactly how I feel when I’m doing P90X. There seems to be no relief!
So, now I’m in week five and will have to force myself to complete two workouts Friday and Saturday and a yoga session on Sunday simply because I put off working out for the whole week.
(In my fifth grade voice) P90X IS HARD!!!!
In the past, I’ve commmited myself to 5:00 am workouts with a boot camp, run 5ks, 10ks and one half-marathon. I’m feeling really beat up right now by this P90X workout system! I know I can do it, put working, wedding planning, decorating house and trying to find a flexible grad school program is a bit much.
It works! That I do know. I’ve seen subtle changes in my body because of it. My arms are nice and tight, my shoulders are to die for, and my back is getting little definition.
I’m gonna suck it up because I KNOW I can do it. I just have to be motivated. I should start thinking about how I want to look during my wedding week in Jamaica.
That should work wonders!

I’ve heard so many good things about this system. Keep it up, and you’ll be another success story in NO time. Work it girl!

I love phase 2!!!!!
Fiance and I got to week 9 and decided to start over again because we were 90 days from our wedding 🙂 and thought it would be motivating.
When we got back to phase 1 exercises UGH we were disappointed!
The whole idea is to keep changing because your body is amazing at adapting. You even said you just got used to the exercises. That’s the point you don’t want to get used to the exercises. Your body becomes efficient and therefore you burn less calories and build less muscle.
I work with the ALWAYS beat mentality. I always have to do better than I did last week, either more reps or more weight and it really keeps me on my toes!
Ya it’s hard but getting fit isn’t easy!
Do you have a workout partner. I find that when I work out with Fiance I push myself so much harder. I can be your online buddy if you want?!?!?!
Just keep pressing play and bring it!

LOL I understand what you mean. I haven’t been brave enough to try it, but my husband just got it and it kicks his butt. Props to you for sticking with it!

We start this program tomorrow and I am SCARED!!

Good luck babyboo! My Darling Husband is just about finished phase 2 (I think) – he has been getting up at 6am Mon-Fri to do it, I’m so impressed with his dedication. I can definitely see the difference in his body (which was already perfectly good), even though he’s not really following the diet (we eat well anyway). Good luck, I’d totally do it myself if I wasn’t already at the gym 5 days a week (and didn’t like my sleep so much, hee hee).

You can do it! Keep up the good work!

I’m a p90x dropout! Ugh It was soooo hard and I get frustrated easily. It was FI’s idea to start this – and I totoally stuck w/ the diet because it was easy – but then he dropped out, although he went further than I did. I alsi haven’r seen the inside of my gym for the last 3 months (and I drive by it 2x a day to go to and from work!!)

Oh man, I am sitting on the couch like a bum while Darling Husband is doing it right now. It is painful to watch. Don’t know how he/you guys do it lol That German girl is crazy intense! I’d be lucky if I could do 5 push ups lol

When I read, Just when I got used to the darn thing, it changes and I’m struggling again! I thought, that means it’s working!! Stick with it!
With that said, I am so out of shape I am not ready to even try it yet, but it’s my goal!

@MrsJKH2be- What’s the diet? I could possibly do that part!
Its the diet that is outlined in the booklet that came w/ the program. It details how much protein, fats, and veggies you should be eating per day depending on what level you are on. You can also google “p90x recipes” and they will give you recipes that correspond w/ the diet.

@MrsJKH2be i’m a drop out too! i liked that the workouts were easily masterable so that kept me interested but this is definitely a winter weather workout because once spring came around, all i wanted to do was go outside. so i started jogging instead! haven’t played with tony and the kids in 2 1/2 months.
and i don’t really miss them either. lol.

i just started the program this past weekend, unfortunately Fiance has been on it for a good 30 days… so i joined him in on the core synergy workout… (I WANTED TO PUKE FOR 30 minutes after)…. but overall i felt great! 😛
yesterday was kenpo x and I LOVED IT!
i’m not following the program to the tee, (will start up when fi strats another cycle), but ive been lacking workouts in my routine… so im just glad to be exercising at all!
the videos are quick! and it’s not short, intense workouts like jillian…
