Hahaah that’s so funny !! Some animals are attracted to precious things. My kitten is part bengal and they are apparently know to be mischievous theives- he likes to bite my engagement ring and also he is partial to playing with earrings and a beautiful sapphire ring I have.

Olivepepper : I had a cockatiel when me and my husband were first married his name was princess ππ
we were told he was a girl but later found out he was a HE so I I tried renaming him but he wouldn’t get used to his new name so he was sessa for his whole life!!
that bird was amazing he knew like about 1/2 hour before my husband would get home and he would get on top of his house and start sqwacking until he came through the door!
and honestly he couldn’t have gotten time down because my husband worked different hours every day!
I miss him soooo much

berrybelle : We too have lost a house mate of blues who was his brother and I had been told to get him a new “friend ” so he didn’t get too depressed!
I waited a while but I couldn’t take hearing him calling for grey he would get out start screeching for him it was heart breaking πso I found a local avian breeder and we found him is fudgieπ
I had been to the chain pet stores and honestly I wanted to take all of the birds home with me I know they aren’t all bad but I really hate going into those places so I decided to just go with the local lady π

Splodge2003 : they are really amazing lil birds!
I took them in because I am a bleeding heart especially for animals and kiddos and I had thought they would take them back once on their feet but they never did and honestly I couldn’t have given them back anyway hahahaha
they are such playful lil spirits..
mine don’t have clipped wings and once blue bear got out he took off and I found him in our neighbors tree where he used to live not the tree but the house but the tree was in their yard I put my hand up by him he jumped on and went home !!
it was like he was checking it out I truly feel they grow attached and he was probably missing his other people but he is definitely attached to us now..
your blue is absolutely adorable π She has beautiful markings!!

I miss him he had a blood clot burst on his spine that paralyzed him and we had to put him down..
I have not had another cat since he was my baby π

meliamartinez31 : awww sounds like a real character – its heart breaking losing an animal, when you are an animal lover they are part of your family and a companion and losing them hurts. They are never replaceable. Your bird sounds like so much fun – I’ve never had any form of bird as a pet but I’ve always liked them

teacher-bee-in-the-sea :
Those are budgerigars ( budgies) , from the Australian Aborginal ‘Betcherrygah’, and they are as you probably know, native to Australia . I now understand that they are called common parakeets elsewhere though we don’t call them that here in Oz , they are always budgies.
Something you might not want to know is that men’s Speedos are commonly called
‘ budgie smugglers ‘ here ……lol.

elderbee : Doesn’t budgerigar mean ‘good to eat’ in aboriginal? We call them Budgies in the UK too π
meliamartinez31 : Blue has been learning to fly out of her cage this week, but she’s had a bit of a run in with the big mirror on our wall and bruised her cere so we’re just doing more hand taming in the cage until it’s beter. Poor little thing, but shes singing away and eating like nothing happened so I think she’s fine, just her ego thats bruised really π
