@Lauraine:  to be honest, it’s not something that i would take home with me.

I kinda agree with mypinkshoes. What does one do with rocks? I guess they could put them in their gardens, if they have them, but my gardens are very country and the rocks would stick out.

I’d definitely be leaving that one behind.  sorry!  I honestly have never taken a favor home from a wedding unless it was edible.

@Lauraine:  they look really cute in the bag but i think it’s an awful lot of time and effort to make something like this and wrap it so pretty and then no one will want to keep them.

go with something edible.  if you want something homemade and personalized, go with a cookie with your initials and date.  that will be eaten.

If you think about it favors are such a waste of money. Many people leave them, the B & G spend a lot on some of them and all for what?

I do like the idea of making a donation instead of favors.

Is money an issue(its okay if it is, cause when we get to my big day I’m going to be looking for pennies on sidewalks).  THen perhaps we can think of some budget saving ideaas for you.

But I agree again with pink. There is no reason to put all that time and effort into it(and it will take a lot of time and effort) into something that probably won’t be taken 🙁

I think it’s really nice that you want to do something special for your guests. I’m all for DIY and love handmade gifts. That said, I would honestly probably only take these to not offend you. They don’t serve a purpose and a couple years down the line I’d still have them in a box and not be able to remember who gave them to me. I know these must take some time and I think that time is probably better used elsewhere.

I wanted favors so bad for my wedding, but couldn’t think of anything that was truly awesome.  So, we went without, and nobody missed them.  Save the $$ and use it on something else for the wedding!

Maybe save some for holiday gifts/hostess gifts/gifts for your bridesmaids, etc.  As a wedding favor, I like something edible, or I don’t take it.  I was so bummed not to have anything for my guests, but seriously nobody missed them.  Nobody asked, complained, anything.  🙂

I love rocks and I collect them, but I probably wouldn’t take these – I think people who actually would take rocks probably like natural stones.

@Lauraine:  Ok so my 2 cents…..I think if you are going to have them as a favor they need to have a bit more purpose. If I got them in the little bag I wouldn’t know what to do with them…..I would still take them…..I would never ever leave a favor on the table. I think that is pretty rude when people say they leave them behind!

But if I got them in this cute lil vase with this plant I ‘d think it was super cute!
