I just wanted to post this incase anyone else found this helpful! I will try to update up to tomorrow night when I put my bouquets together. I ordered blush colored peonies from FiftyFlowers and this thread is basically just to show how they arrived, how long they took to bloom etc!
I ordered 50 blooms back in December, they arrived yesterday morning and really freaked me out by how teeny the buds looked. Too my pleasant surprise FiftyFlowers also seems to include extra buds as a buffer because when I counted I had 58 flowers! Yay! I followed the instructions, unbundled them, cut an inch off the stems at and angle, and put them in water. Here’s what they looked like
I set them in a window that does not receive direct sunlight. 20 minute later I come back to this
Yep, in 20 minutes those babies popped out like a stripper out of a birthday cake! I even stood and watched as one literally bloomed open right in front of my eyes in A matter of seconds! I was extremely encouraged by this.
This morning I checked them again and they look like this
FiftyFlowers advises trimming the stems of buds that are not blooming, as your event gets closer, every few hours. I went ahead and separated the bloomed flowers from the closed ones and trimmed the closed ones a second time. I pulled the bloomed ones out of the window to keep them from “aging”, and I’ll get some flower food for those ones to help slow them down. So far I have 24 bloomed or nearly bloomed and 34 still buds. Most of the buds looks slightly swollen And much pinker so I’m confident that most of the remaining ones will bloom today.
Here they are separated! Ill update again tomorrow and hopefully one more time once my bouquets are together! Feel free to ask questions! I’m really busy leading up to my wedding but I will get to what I can.

So pretty. A few of my neighbors grow peonies so it really is amazing how fast they bloom once the bud is ready. I love how fluffy peonies are. Glad you shared this since I was looking at online flowers and wondering if/how they really bloomed in time to make a bouquet with them!

they were $250, but their prices vary a lot depending on when your order them and what season you need a certain flower for

I definitely would have had an anxiety attack if I recieved them like that! They look beautiful once they busted out like strippers lol!

I am looking into using fifty flowers too, and I would die for peonies, but they dont have them in september. 🙁 how many bouquets are you planning to make with those, and are you using filler or some other kind of flowers too? can’t wait to see pics!

How did these hold up on the day of? I love peonies, but I feel like they would be a bit tricky since the petals shed so easily.

Looking forward to seeing the final product, they look great! I’m definitely considering fifty flowers and Costco, if only I can think of a creative group of flowers for my Centerpieces… There are so many gorgeous choices on their website, I’m kinda overwhelmed by the options!
