weddingpeach :  relax. I had my period on my honeymoon and while it wasn’t ideal, it wasn’t that big of a deal. You have the rest of your lives together to bone, if that’s what you’re worried about.

Ugh, that’s disappointing. I totally understand. I don’t have any advice on adjusting timing (although stress from the wedding itself could delay it as well?) but have you tried a menstrual cup? Since I started using the diva cup, I hardly even notice when I have mine. I empty it twice a day and that’s it! I know it’s not for everyone and you’d have to get it now to get the hang of it for your next period, but just an idea! Good luck!

weddingpeach :  I take it before and during my period.  That’s what my running coach told me to do when I was running actively to help ease the bleeding during a race.

Pinkpeep :  Yes!  This was going to be my advice!

OP, get a diva cup!  You can leave them in for 12 hours, so you shouldn’t have to worry at all about changing a pad or tampon during your wedding!  I just got one, and have only used it for one cycle so far, but it was way better than I expected.  You basically forget you are on your period because you only have to take it out to empty/rinse out once in the morning, and once at night before bed.

I have even read about disposable ones (Softcup?) that you can use during sex.  Might be something to try on the honeymoon?

It’s funny because I wasn’t due for mine for another two weeks but somehow she showed up the day before my wedding and later 5-6 days so yep, sometimes these things are out of our control. To be honest, it wasn’t bad. Sure it was annoying but since I couldn’t do anything, I had to go with the flow. Pun intended 😉

I read a thread on here a while back that said spearmint tea works to delay ovulation? I’ve never tried it personally, but it’s worth a shot. (search spearmint)
