What are you currently using on your face?

I just started using this stuff called Bioskinexfol (http://www.biocutis.com/store/). I used to get microdermabrasions, but 125.00 every 3-4 months was getting really expensive so I went out on the web to search for an alternative. Well I stumbled upon this website Biocutis (http://www.biocutis.com/). I have never heard of this website, or the products so I did all kinds of research to make sure I wasn’t buying anything that would burn my face off. I have really sensitive skin and from time to time I break out. I have tried every skin product imaginable (Retin-A, Proactiv, you name it!) so at this point I’ll try anything. Well I bought the Bioskinexfol, which is an at home microdermabrasion, and let me tell you, after using it for about a week I have noticed a significant difference in the way my face looks and feels. My face looks fabulous, it doesn’t irritate or burn my skin like some products I’ve used. My pores are getting smaller, some of my acne scars are fading, and my skin just glows! The products on the website are a little expensive, but they last for months and it’s still cheaper than going to a dermatologist.

Have you tried Dr. Brant’s “Pores no more”? It’s pretty pricey which is what keeps me from buying it, but I have large pores too and I got a sample of this at Sephora and OMG it works so well! If it wasn’t so expensive I’d definitely use it everyday.

EDIT: I have heard that “pore minimizer instant perfector” from Clinique is pretty similar and less expensive, but I haven’t tried it yet.

You’re welcome! I know what you mean. I feel that at this point the worst thing that could happen is that my face breaks out. It stinks to be your own guinea pig. I have heard of Clarisonic but never tried it. I have heard from other people that they really liked it, but I guess it depends on your skin and just finding what works for you. You may want to google reviews about it just to see what people are saying about the product, and find out what ingredients are in them.  I recommend  staying away from anything with Benzoyle Peroxide and Salicylic acid. I’ve read that both used over time damage your skin, increases the aging process (wrinkles) and doesn’t fix or improve anything. Look for products with at least 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid or that have glycolic acid in them.

I recommend Clinique’s Pore Minimizer instant perfector as @deathbydesign mentioned! I read about it here on the Bee from a post by Scissors and have sworn by it ever since. It’s a cream that basically feels like it turns into a sheer powder as you rub it on your face. I never really noticed my pores before but it definitely helps cut down on shine.

i have used two products that i have gotten noticeble results from — the first is http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P259938&categoryId=B70 Perricone MD Intensive Pore Minimizer.  Within a week, I noticed a great improvement to the overall texture of my skin.  No irritation whatsoever.  This product completely converted me to the Perricone line.  The other product had temporary results — but got rid of my pores immediately after using and for a few hours after use — http://www.mariobadescu.com/silver-powder  The effects were not lasting.  the Dr. Brandt line did not really work for me at all.  It just overdried my skin.

If you can, get a facial and ask for recommendations as to what you should be doing. I actually got one today and it turns out that my favorite face scrub was too harsh for my skin and actually causing it to be dry and then oily to make up for the difference.

Also, try using a clay based face mask. they help to shrink pore size. I use one that’s 4 bucks and cvs brand, its mintyish. Kaolin is what you’re looking for.

Thank you for posting this! I was looking for something to minimize pores myself. Does anyone have any suggestions for blackheads? Don’t mean to threadjack, I was just curious lol. I wanted to go to the dermatologist, but haven’t gone yet. I have a feeling it will be expensive lol. Thanks again bees.

@almostmrsc: I love kaolin. It’s amazing. I use Noah’s Naturals Pore Refining Masque. It’s about nine dollars at Walmart (with the organic skincare). It works great, and leaves me with almost invisible pores! And mine are pretty big on/around my nose.

A drug store mask: Mint Julip. Is quite good a minimising the pores. Use it once a week (or twice if your skin goes alright). It is cheap and you get heaps. Smear it on so that you can’t see the pores under it and leave it until it’s dry. It looks like your old school green face mask.

I would also see a facialist if you could.

Let us know how you go! 🙂

@Everdeen: that’s the one I was thinking of, but couldn’t remember the name. I love it.

@Everdeen: This is what I use as well, though I usually forget and end up not doing it once a week. It definitely makes your skin feel smooth and tight! Where did you hear that you should apply it thick enough that you can’t see pores under it? I’d have to apply a lot to make that happen, but I hadn’t heard that before.
