I’ve been going back and forth about posting my dress and I finally decided to do it! I went to at least 8 or 10 stores, and was just getting ready to design it myself and have a dress made when I found this one. I bought it off the rack about 5 sizes too big and have gone through several alterations. The front isn’t finished yet, so I am just posting the back. We still have some work to do on the top of the keyhole. But, I am in love.
Any thoughts on a veil? I’ve considered a fingertip mantilla, birdcage or plain elbow length.

It depends where you are getting married I think. In a church I would go with a longer veil.
Beautiful dress 🙂

lovely dress! You can wear any veil with this, just try on different ones and see which look you prefer

i cant really decide without seeing the front but i think a mantilla veil would look lovely with that dress.

Good point! The ceremony and reception are in the same place, across from the beach. The ceremony will be outdoors in a garden. The reception is inside, the building is spanish style architecture.

Ooh, tough call! I’ve always loved mantilla veils, especially with lace dresses. But, I love the keyhole on this dress and wonder if you should consider a bird cage veil to show it off? Let us know what you decide! 🙂

@pengoala: that is exactly how i feel!
Thanks for the input

I agree with the idea of not wanting to cover the gorgeous keyhole back.. Are you planning on removing your veil for the reception? I would look for a very simple, classy and elegant birdcage veil, as not to take away from the details of your dress. I think a mantilla veil would be beautiful, but I would worry it might be “too much.” Can’t wait to see the front!!

Breathtaking dress! I vote birdcage so you don’t cover anything up!

Beautiful dress! I love it! With the Spanish architechture, I would go with a mantilla veil and then take it off for the reception and show off your back then. I guess it also depends on how you are planning on doing your hair.

@kellybell: I looked at your post when you just posted it but I didn’t know what to suggest as I had mixed feelings – I liked the idea of a Mantilla veil because of the lace on your dress but liked the idea of a birdcage too so you could see the keyhole detail. Now that you’ve said about the Spanish architecture i’m going to go with the Mantilla veil. Good luck and let us know what you decide. 😉

my sister wore a similar dress and she wore birdcage (2 years ago before DB even started selling them, she had to search forever to find one), but I think they are starting to become over done.i like the idea of something simple to not take away from the detail of the dress. like a single layer cathedral length veil, with some crystal beading on the edge.

Your dress is stunning! I agree with the pps that either a simple mantilla veil or a cathedral length would look great with your dress. Since your dress has such a romantic feel to it, I think a romantic long veil would look great with it.

I vote long veil for the ceremony (mantilla would be fab I think) then show off your back at the reception.
Stunning dress by the way!

@kellybell: I’d say birdcage …it will look Hollywood Glam and show off the beautiful back of the dress!
