…and I cried like a little kid when I had to leave him. I cried the entire drive there. I was ok when we got there, then she put him in the kennel and I started to bawl. We are leaving him with a trainer that will teach him hunting and retrieval. It will take 2 months of work to make sure he has the basics down. and we just left him and I haven’t stopped crying. He’s basically my child. I’m going to miss him and I’m also scared since I barely know this women and I’m leaving him in her hands.
Someone please tell me I am not insane for sobbing so much.

You are insane! lol I would never leave my puppy!! Especially not for hunting and retrieval, i’d be afraid that it would change her temperment. But…If I had too, i’d bawl like a baby!

You are not insane!
I hate leaving my boys overnight, and am DREADING leaving them for two weeks for our honeymoon. I can’t imagine two whole months without them. Can you visit?

I would never leave my puppy like that! Sorry, I know you want reassurance here.. but I’d be so sad because he’ll be so much bigger the next time you see him. Puppies grow up so fast!

Thanks ladis! its my SO’s hobby so he will be a hunting companion, We can visit in 2 weeks. it won’t change his temperment. he will just be more calm and obedient. he will love it I know because he will get to swim and run around on a farm. it was just hard leaving him.
It will be an adjustment for sure!!

I cry every time I take my chihuahua in for boarding so you’re not the only one!! I can’t imagine leaving her for two whole months! I have a hard time leaving her for 4 days! She grew up in a puppy mill and spent the first year and a half of her life in a cage, so I always feel terrible leaving her at the boarding place where she will be in that situation again. I don’t know why I feel so bad because I know that the ladies who work there haul her around and spoil her, but I just don’t want her to think that we have abandoned her.

Definitely not insane! I miss my dog just during the day when I’m at work, so I can’t imagine!
