The engagement process between Fiance and I was fairly open. We looked at rings together online for months before deciding what the right decision was for us. I had strong ideas about what I wanted, and it made things fairly difficult for him to surprise me. Ultimately, we ended up contacting the designer of the ring together via email and I was very involved in the process, knowing the cost, time frame, and other details. I was told by Fiance that I would wait about 2 months after the ring arrived for his proposal as he had something very specific in mind for me.
I am not a girl who likes to be the center of attention so I had one request for him: please do not allow an audience to be present. I would prefer not to be proposed to in public as I feared I would get really uncomfortable/nervous/anxious – and not in a good way.
So, the ring was completed and being shipped. I knew the week it would be arriving, but was unsure as to when I would be seeing it.
As it turns out, that thing was just burning a hole in FI’s pocket!! He had it delivered to his office and surprised me with a home proposal on a random Wednesday night as I just finished cooking dinner.
As soon as I realized what was happening I managed to blurt “but I’m wearing your pajama pants!”
Which was quickly followed by a yes! and mid-sentence kiss interruptions.
We went out that weekend for a fancy dinner and celebrated without worry of public embarrasment.
I would not have preferred it any other way!

I love your e-ring, it’s very unique and beautiful! I have a citrine and white topaz RHR that I love. I also love your quiet proposal story. Mine was similarly quiet and I was very happy with exactly the way he did it. It was just so “us.”

Congratulations! I also was quite involved in the ering process and had a good guesstimate as to when he would propose. I, too, did not know the ring was burning a hole through his pocket and one of the first things I blurted out was “but I have pink eye!”‘ Because, well, I did. He proposed in a public park but to my shock no one was there so it was quiet as well. Congratulations and love your ring!

That’s gorgeous! And my dream proposal. Congrats 🙂 I love the way you are holding your hand – the classic hand-flip ‘Oh yeah, check this out’ pose!
