This idea popped into my head, and I thought I would throw this out to the Bees to see if it flies. I am thinking about adding a blank recipe card in with our wedding invitations, with a short note, asking that the recipients write out their favorite home recipe, and return it with their RSVP. Then I would compile the recipes received into a little recipe cook booklet to give away as a favor. Do you think this is a good idea?

I think that would be a cool idea.

cute idea, but don’t expect everyone to participate [some people don’t cook], and anticipate doubles too 🙂

I think its a cute idea, but I’m a little worried about the logistics.
So you’d me making recipe books for every guest? That seems like a very time consuming project very close to your wedding day.

I agree with texasmeredith. It is a really good idea in theory but will you have the time to type/write up all the recipes and put together books a few weeks before the wedding? If you can find the time to do it (or bribe the bridesmaids) it is a really cute and original idea for favors!!

Its a good idea.. i did this as a favor for my sorority parent’s day once.. i ended up hounding people for recipes though and you can’t really do that for your wedding, so only do it if you have the kind of guests who would play into it

I think it sounds fun! I received a book and cupcake recipe book for my cousin’s wedding. Don’t be surprised if you don’t get a big response though. It’s usually hard enough for me to get the RSVP back into the mail… much less write anything besides Yes Attending or Not Attending. I think people would get excited about it though.
