Ok ladies, here is our registry
Does it look good to you? Anything you would add or change/ What did you get that you most love or regret?
I love to bake and cook and feed friends and family.
So although our hometown is quite well off, mainly people give around $30-$50 at weddings and that is per couple/family. We are super involved in our home church and community and have been together since 9th grade/over 7 years so we know a lot of people. We have over 300 people invited to our lake side, relaxed wedding and about 200 people we expect to come. We are paying for the wedding ourselves since we both come from struggling single mothers.
That being said, I didn’t plan on registrying for high priced items. We currently are living away at college and we’ve been going to our current church for over 2 years. We are also very involved in this church with the children’s program and choir, everyone in the church knows us- being singers we’ve sung several times. We have a shower in four weeks put on by our genorus church choir that we’ve sung with since joining. Our church town is very well off and from my understanding generous. The main woman hosting our shower was married about 5 years ago and she specifically told us to register for nicer things at a nicer store not just Target or Walmart. She told us these people love to give, and when she got married they covered all her crystal, nice towels, etc. (though she never mentioned price ranges)
I’ve been obsessing over this registry. I do not expect gifts and would be happy to just celebrate our marriage with them so I don’t want to offend anyone with the price of the items I registered for. We nixed china (I’ll inherit some, hopefully much later) and went for versital nicer everyday fiesta ware, and we got stemless wine glasses to double as juice drinks. The only reason I got as many higher-priced items on there is because the 20% off completion program, I am more than willing to invest in nicer items I’ve chosen after the wedding if they are not bought (I’m basically expecting it).
We also have a seperate honeymoon fund which I know some of you think is a huge no, no but it is accepted in our crowd. We are 22 with most of our friends in college (not the most likely to buy a crystal vase or place setting). We had several friends do it already and everyone loved it. All items in that registry are in $25 chuncks. (We have our honeymoon cruise paid off already, we would use it for souvenir money, excursions, and to complete our traditional registry with whatever we get back after)
