Wow, that is wild! Good thing you called and found out what was going on, or your wedding night might have been interrupted by a dozen relatives with sleeping bags!

By The Way, the title of this thread made me laugh out loud. Too funny!

They’re only giving you eye twitches?  Mine are causing my face to break out like when I was teenager.  This is the current drama that just happened in the last hour:

  • One relative is pissed because I’m not having a “Catholic ceremony”  (well, when the Church tells you need to pay $3500 to get married there & that’s your entire wedding budget, and oh by the way, you & your fiance need to provide NEW baptismal certificates – that’s out.)
  • Another is accusing me of not sending a wedding invitation to my Grandma who lives in a nursing home (which I did, her’s was the first invitation of all the wedding invites I did & was the first to be sent out).
  • Then another for why didn’t I send invites to your Cousin So & So (well, I’ve never met them once in the almost 35 years I’ve walked on this earth & you didn’t provide me the address when I asked “Is there anyone else in our family I NEED to send an invitation to?”  And your response is “No.  That’s everyone.”  I don’t see how this is my fault.)

I must be a 10 day countdown thing – since I’m now 10 days to my wedding.  :^D

Good luck on Saturday!

OK, I’m not 10 days away, but I’m getting eye twitches too!!

My mother, who lives on the east coast of FL, asked me who she will be staying with. Yourself? Because Fiance, daughter, dog and I are staying in a one bedroom cottage on the beach that is paid for, and IT’S OUR HONEYMOON.

My sister, who lives with my mother, asked me if I would “swing by and pick her and the kid up on your way to Sanibel” ANSWER-HAHAHAHAHA That is 3 hours ONE WAY out of my way. You are THREE HOURS AWAY from the destination!! They are the closest ones to it!!! I’m driving from northeast Mississippi with Fiance, daughter, DOG, and supplies! In an Explorer! Where would you SIT? NO. FYI, she has a minivan!?

Mom and sister are having super drama (live together, not speaking, passive aggressive crap) so my sister decides that to prevent Mom from riding with her and staying with her in Sanibel, she and her husband and kid are going to CAMP on the island. Mom says, “So we’re camping? Cool.” GAHHH Talk it out, kids.

My Dad’s side (All in KY) has totally not booked condos, flights, or even acknowledged the date besides saying “it’s going to be really hot down there in July”. OK? Then going on to say they “preferred” Hawaii. Or they are thinking of “taking a trip to Myrtle Beach” instead. INSTEAD?!?! You’re killing me.

I have to make myself stop thinking about it.

Good luck to you guys that are SO CLOSE!!!

Wow ladies people are nuts! I say let them know that no one can stay at your house end of discussion. Also who cares if they want to stay at other hotels that their business. We are picking two hotels both at different price points which I feel is reasonable. We are also renting trolleys for our guest, so whoever doesn’t stay at the places we get hotels blocks are on their own as far as transportation goes. After my brothers wedding where tons of family members were staying over my parents aren’t having anyone if you aren’t international stay at their house, and my condo is off limits!

Sometimes people are clueless!  Kicking in the shins would be too nice, lol.  My Fiance and I actually decided against a destination wedding for a reason similar to this – we were afraid certain family members and friends would want to stick around for much too long before/after our wedding, and had hinted about staying with us in our beach house rental.  Um, NO, it’s our wedding night and honeymoon, people!  So, to be safe we’re having the wedding in our home town in a garden, and then going on our honeymoon, far, far away.  Love them, but really!

I don’t blame you for being upset, in the least!
