I have Gemshield. My husband lost his ring in the ocean and they were going to replace it, so I would reccommend them. Someone ended up finding the ring 6 days later on the beach.

Sorry your rings got flushed! That must have been so upsetting! But, on the bright side, your new set is very pretty! πŸ™‚

Sorry to hear about your old set, but your new one is lovely as well.  Yes, I have insurance on my ering with Jeweler’s Mutual.

my set is covered under a rider on our homeowner’s insurance, along with all of my other fine jewelry. i had it all appraised two years ago, and every time i add a piece, i have the appraisal rewritten and sent to the insurance company.

mrstattoo10816:  Oh no! I can’t believe your gorgeous yellow gold set got flushed down the toilet. That makes me so sad, as I loved your set. It was beautiful. I live in fear that mine will fall down the drain in the sink — especially now, because the drain in the bathroom I generally share with my daughter is broken. So there’s no stopper in the sink! I try to be so extra careful with my rings when I’m standing at or near the sink.

Love your new set, though! It is really gorgeous, and I hope it helped lessen the pain (at least a little) of losing your other set. I really like how the bands fit around the ERing. Very pretty!!

I was too terrified to wear my set without insurance on them. My previous ERing was automatically covered under our Homeowner’s policy. But my anniversary upgrade wouldn’t have been. We insured it the same evening we picked it up from the jeweler. We just got a separate rider on our HO policy for it. That night, we insured it for the amount we paid. But, after the appraisal was done (a few days later), we increased the coverage to the appraised price. The nice thing is that I can add in other jewelry on the rider down the road. It’s pretty easy to increase the coverage amount, as long as we have the appraisal and other documentation supporting the value.

I’m so glad your rings were insured! It’s still heartbreaking that you couldn’t find them. But at least you were able to get a gorgeous new replacement set.
